Celina Nayagam aka 3C is a recreated image formerly known as ‘Miss Gypsy’. 3C is now a solo independent artist who started pursuing her own career late November 2012. She was initially introduced to the music industry in 2009 with Matalala Records where she was behind the scenes as part of the entourage, watching; Theo Thomson and Team Gypsy record, shoot videos, do television and radio interviews and perform at shows. However, Celina was still new to commercial music and the industry as a whole. Sean Focus (former Team Gypsy member; a co-founder of Imviaze) was the one who found Celina through a facebook rap-battle and was intrigued by her writing. He introduced her to Matalala Records and their members as a solo act where she was given the freedom to learn writing and recording as a selling artist. Celina would go to the studio everyday from April, 2010; being influenced, guided and mentored by; Theo Thomson, Yesaya, Bagpac, Sean Focus and Boy Magic, practicing commercial writing and rap delivery. By July, 2010; soon after ‘Theo Thomson’s’ ‘Gypsy’ Album launch the members of Team Gypsy decided that she was to be part of their team rather than a solo act. By this time, Theo Thomson and Team Gypsy were running the Malawi Urban Scene with videos on DSTV and hit singles dominating local radio and television airwaves.
With Celina still being new to recording and artistry, she was only put on 4 songs on the 22 track ‘Travelling Project’ that Team Gypsy had released in October, 2011 at the Lake of Stars Festival. This was still enough to get 'Miss Gypsy' recognized by the Malawian Music Industry. Together as Team Gypsy, they performed around Malawi, sub-branding the Gypsy brand.
Team Gypsy soon disbanded late that October, where all the other members started to pursue their own solo careers. Celina decided that going into management was best while she worked on her artistry as a solo act, trying to perfect it in all creative and production related areas. So she stopped publicaly releasing songs and performing and she became Label/Artist Representative and Manager at Matalala Records for; Theo Thomson, Boy Magic, Canny One and Sam Chidothi.
By early September 2012, Celina left Matalala Records. In November, Celina started recording as 3C and made her 1st single ‘Dance Malawi’ ft Canny One as a solo independent act. She released it on local radio stations by November 2012. Soon after, she had her first live performance at ‘Breakers Bash Disco’ in Mangochi. By April she had released her 1st music viral video, ‘The Letter (Remix)’ which she collaborated with Canny One, Cosby, Boy Magic and Gingy, which received great responses globally via internet. This video got her recognized by ‘Music Unites Africa’ and by May 2013 was announced Malawi Music Ambassador for the non-profit organization. By June she released her 2nd video out on YouTube for the 3rd song that was released on radio, ‘Work (The Tribute)’. She then released her ‘Born Before My Time: The New Generation’ EP for free on her site for all her fans. 3C became a house-hold name in the industry. She went on to expand her demographic in Lusaka, Zambia where she released her latest single 'Would You Love Me?' exclusivily at Hot 97.7FM radio station. She collaborated with 'Macky 2' and 'F-Jay' on a song called 'City on Lock' which surfed Zambian airwaves and then featured on Zone-Fam's; Thugga song, 'Turn Tables' which also featured Zambian artist, Diva.
When she came back to Malawi, she stopped recording, performing and releasing music for two years as she concentrated on entrepernual businesses. She began recording again in July 2015 for her long overdue debut album which is to be released in 2016.
